Robert F. Mannis Ph.D, is a clinical psychologist in Frederick, MD.

Dr. Mannis has over 40 years of clinical experience. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings throughout his professional career. He has worked at a community mental health clinic, two psychiatric hospitals, and was the consulting psychologist to the Fredrick County Adult Detention Center for several Years in the 1990's. He earned his Doctoral degree from the University of Maryland. He has worked in private practice for the last 30 years.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Dr. Mannis has a strong interest in a cognitive behavioral therapeutic approach to anxiety and phobias. Additionally he has maintained a lifelong interest in the Jungian approach to the treatment of adult malaise, the “midlife conflict,” and depression.

Achievements

In his personal life Dr. Mannis achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a young adolescent.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from Rider University with a major in finance.
He served two years of active duty in the Medical Service Corp, U.S. Army, as a Data Systems Analyst.
He left active duty with the rank of First Lieutenant.
He is currently Ranked #1 of 48 Psychologists in the Frederick, Maryland area!

The Jungian Approach

Dr. Mannis is a founding and lifelong member of the Jung Society of Washington D.C.
He has published in the Utne Reader and has spoken both regionally and nationally. He published his book, Ars Nova, in 2015
He spoke to the International Foundation of Sonography Education and Research in Phoenix, Arizona in July, 2013.Dr. Mannis focused on the problem and treatment of student anxiety in clinical settings.
In the summer of 2015, Dr. Mannis was invited to speak at the prestigious C.G. Jung Institute in NYC on the subject of masculine growth and development.

Personal Life

Dr. Mannis has three adult children. Enjoys mountain hiking, wilderness canoeing, tennis, running and basketball. Having a full life with an outer world of vitality coupled with an inner world of dreams and synchronicity is very important to him.
